Repaired PS2 but pulled out the memory/control ribbon, HELP!

I had to take apart PS2 and I was able to make it work, but as I was reassembling it the blankety-blank memory/controller ribbon pulled out. It won't stay when I try to push it back. Can't find any help online. Anyone have ANY ideas?

I am bumping this because I have the exact same problem.

I've tried sticking the cable back into where I think it's supposed to go, but it keeps slipping out. It's different than when you pull out the ribbon connecting the Reset and Load buttons to the console. That was pretty easy to reconnect.

After going through the threads in more detail, it looks like this user was able to fix the problem with tape. I would be interested in hearing more details.

Had it happen to me just keep trying to stick it back in there i got mine to stick. sucks balls good luck buddy
