| Junior Member | Hi All Hears my problem. When I switched my PS2 on today ( it was working last night ) it went to a blue screen for a bout 10 seconds (its never done that before) then it showed the PS2 logo the went to some kind of setup screen where it asked for language / time etc (its never done that before either) and that keeps happening every time I turn it on even with no game in. Also when I try and eject a disc the blue light flashes and takes about 10 seconds for the draw to open. It hasent been bumped or Knocked I don't want to open it up if there is a simpler solution can anybody help. Mark |

| My E-Penis Is HUGE | If your playstation 2 cannot keep the date and time settings you probably need to replace the battery |
| All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can. | |

| Junior Member | I just had this same problem happen to me yesterday. I powered the ps2 on and it wouldn't even spin up, it went to the Sony logo and then immediately went to Browser/System Configuration and happens whether I have a game or a CD or a DVD in it. Mine's a slimline PS2 that I had someone mod for me though... SCPH-70012 I checked out the 'How to fix DRE' guide in the forum sticky but I'm not sure if that will work for a skinny PS2? |

| Chief Webologist | Unfortunately the guide does not cover the slimline PS2s because I don't own one. If you ship me your PS2, I'll make the best attempt to fix it, update the guide, and pay for the shipping back. PM me if you're interested. |

| Junior Member | I am outside of US and sending cost would be pretty high to US. I tried the laser voltage adjustment and did not get it corrected. I reads the PS2 games , but when i enter , the screen goes blank. Not sure if i should still persist with voltage adjustments. Quote:

| Junior Member | Hey ahbiya, I had the same trouble with God of War, and another gold back disc game. Anyways, try this cuz it worked for me: 1) put game in the system and close the tray 2) put the ps2 on its back (upside down) 3) click the start button to start the loading process 4) keep repeating as necessary until it loads 5) when it does load properly, turn system back over I guarantee you won't be repeating step 3 that many times. It's worked several times now for me and my new favorite game of the month "God of War". |
