| Junior Member | Ive been trying to fix my ps2 from having DRE following the guide on this site, however Im still having problems, here's the story: My ps2 is a SCPH 30003 model, and ive had no problems up until earlier this summer, when the disk drive started to get very loud when loading games, and occasionally a few dirtier disks wouldnt start up on the first try. Recently my ps2 got knocked off a table onto the floor, it worked a few times after this but stopped working soon after, everytime I put a game in the ps2 browser would never show it, the same thing happened for dvd's. Ive tried adjusting the gear inside the disk drive several times now but Im getting no results, the closest thing Im getting to success is that the drive gets quiter the further I adjust the lens away from its initial position. I am wondering if Im quite close to finding the right spot as the drive gets quiter, or will I have to adjust the laser instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated |

| Senior Member | Start off with adjusting (calibrating) the laser. That's the root of many PS2 problems.. I had the same issue on my ps2slim after my dog knocked it off a table. |
