A reader, Robert Blakeley sent the following bit in:

One of the easiest ways to fix a problem is to remove the piece of plastic that is used to hold the cd when the ps2 is stood up vertically. However, for obvious reasons, this means you can no LONGER use vert position unless you snap the piece back in place.

The reason this worked for me (I guess) is because my 'seat', lets call it, for the disc (which spins the disc) was slightly warped (or so I'm guessing), so every now and then the cd would wobble a little and drag on that edge, and occasionally pop up there and get stuck until i eject the cd again.

Also, the part that says "twist the white gear 1/8th a rotation clockwise" should be made a little more proper... ie. "for example, mine worked after i gave it 1/8th of a twist clockwise, but for the most part you only want to test about two clicks at a time in either direction..." or something like that.

Just because it's not the same for everyone. Like mine worked after I twisted the gear about 4 notches counterclockwise from its original position. (and yes I'm sure the plastic removal helped even more.)

I'm Tweak3D's self-appointed mayor.
