I'm having problems with my modded ps2 MI console. This console was purchased back in December of last year & had been working perfecly until recently. I was actually using an HDD to install & play my games so little use of the actual ps2 laser was happening. However, I now have 2 consoles(both modded) but I switched my HDD for usage with the Crystal Chip instead of the MI because I wanted to save on my MI chipped console. I have only tried a couple regular DVD games for playing over the past couple weeks with the MI console. Those worked fine until a couple days ago. I'm getting a ticking & clicking noise when closing the disc tray so I do the right thing & go inside to clean the entire unit & adjust the cog for the laser. All this has been done by with power avialable for testing to see if it will finally work. BTW, the guide was taken from here in which I have used several times before. No matter which way I turn the cog for adjustment the discs(both DVD movies & games) make that quick spinning like they're gonna read & then the ticking & clicking starts & last for about 30-45 seconds. Then I do get like the chapter menus options for some of my DVD's but nothing else. As for the games, I get all that noise & then after maybe a couple minutes either a "disc read error" or nothing at all comes up on the TV screen. This was a brand new laser in this particular console back when it was purchased & not much usage on that laser because of HDD usage so I really don't see the laser giving that fast. I used WINHIIP & HDL_Dumb to transfer nearly all my game files from PC to this MI console so I don't know what's wrong but it really couldn't be anything major like a crashed laser. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
