when i put a ps2 disc in and start it it acts as there is no disk in it. any ideas. i already bought a new one but it would be nice to be able to sell it or something

sounds like its just loads of dust in the tray and on the lazer, open it up, unscrew the lid of the CD tray and vaccum the whole thing. Hold it over the lazer so it raises up. Might help, does sometimes.
