| Junior Member | I have a PS-2 model SCPH-39001. I opened it to fix it for disc read error and the white gear that adjusts the laser is missing. Can anyone tell me what to do? |

| Junior Member | Well you could buy a new white gear and put it in your self.. and if you dont know how to do that look it up your self on the web. |

| Chief Webologist | I am not sure if 39001s had the white gear. Did you see two different gears on opposite sides instead? Follow the rods that the tray slides on and let me know, or snap a picture and post it here. |

| Junior Member | To Dan-T3D My PS-2 looks like the photo on your DRE repair guide, except there's a 5-sided socket where the white gear should be. I'm thinking the last time I sent my PS-2 to repair it for DRE last year the repairman must have lost it or something. Anyway thank you for trying to help and thanks to KillgameX for your suggestion. |
