I have a PS-2 model SCPH-39001. I opened it to fix it for disc read error and the white gear that adjusts the laser is missing. Can anyone tell me what to do?

Well you could buy a new white gear and put it in your self.. and if you dont know how to do that look it up your self on the web.

I am not sure if 39001s had the white gear. Did you see two different gears on opposite sides instead? Follow the rods that the tray slides on and let me know, or snap a picture and post it here.
