just modded ps2 wont play dvd games only cd

have just had my ps2 modded.
took it home and it played my cd games no problem but borrowed about 10 dvd games from a friend and not one one of them work why.

dont know much about ps2s or what chip was put in.
was done buy a shop for £40

can anyone help

I think you have the adjust the laser voltage

I think your first mistake was not knowing what kind of mod or modchip (whether it be softmod or an actual hardware modchip) was used.

Take it back to your source and have them fix it, IMO.
