| Hi all,
This is my dellema. Some of our playstation games would not load so I decided to adjust the lens angle as the website instructs. After trying a few different settings I found one that actally made Grand Theft Auto 3 work, which didn't in the past. However, some other games still wouldn't work, so I decided to dig deeper, which was a mistake. I then decided to take the lens off to see if I could see if it needed cleaning under it. I removed a tiny black screw which is attached to one side of the lens going to the bar which apparently I didn't even have to take off. I ended up losing this screw but am not sure if it matters. I could have just popped up the black plastic cover on the lens. Anyway, I removed the 2 bars that the lens rides on and stuck a Q-tip under the lens to clean it. I put the 2 bars back and tightend the screws keeping them in. I am not sure if I was supposed to measure where the lens was when I took them out, I didn't.
After reassembling and setting the lens angle with the plastic gear for about 3 hours. I got one game to work. Most of the time the disc would just stop spinning giving me the web browser and not loading the game. At the end I got it to spin with a medium speed but not load the game. Please help if you can! If not for my sake, then my sons.
Ps: My appoligies for the long post.
Thanks,
Jason |
