| Junior Member | I need help figuring out what is wrong with my SCPH-39001 PS2. It makes strange noises in the middle of play and freezes up. Sometimes I can tap the PS2 and then it works again, and sometimes I have to restart it. I have taken it apart and it does not have any cogs like other pics of PS2s I have seen, but rather a small white allen wrench hole. Is this a laser alignment malfunction or what? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

| Junior Member | After looking over my PS2 a little more, I have found that this liitle white cog/wheel thing is directly underneath the allen wrench insert, and if the ellen wrench insert is turned with an allen wrench, the white cog also turns. There is also some kind of scuffing on the orange strip running from the white cog area to the laser, does that matter? I tried to upload a picture of the insides of my PS2. If it worked you can see on the left side a small white circular thing, this is the allen wrench insert, and directly under that is the white cog. This thing has scratched many of my games and I would like to fix it as soon as possible so that I can get back to my dominating ways in Madden 07. Thanks. |
