Does anyone know how I can fix a scratches Madden 07 disc? It has a few short but deep scratches that somehow got there while it was in my PS2. I was wondering if there is some trick to fixing scratches or if I;m going to have to get one of those disc docter things.

I have tried the toothepaste, peanut butter, pledge, and maxxel DVD cleaning solution methods, but none have worked. I heard that Brasso works much better. Is this true? Will this fix the scratches? Does anyone think that maybe if I put some clear tape on the disc it will work?

the only method I've found tried and true was using toothpaste. works about as good as anything. if a scratch is deep enough that it wont fix it i doubt it can be.
Putting clear tape would be even worse. not only would it make a larger section unable to read (its reading the pits and what you create is a smooth surface doing that) it would possibly come off in your drive gumming up the works.

I moved my 360 while DOA4 was inside and it scratched it to buggery, wanna try this toothpaste method before I buy another copy.

So do I just smear it on and wipe it off? Or do I let it "set in"?

and when they say toothpaste use a true paste...not a gel. Also nothing with crystals or chunks of anything. Strieght normal toothpaste. Baking soda + peroxide mixed together into a paste (prettymuch all toothpaste is) works as well.

I used my girlfriends Aquafresh as I use the Colgate Oxygen one that has crystals in it. Didn't do much unfortunatly. My 360 Gold Live Membership kicked in today and I don't have any games to play on it Boooo!

use Mother's alluminum polish. this is the best thing ive used. it is just abrasive enough to buff out the deep scratches. rub in big circles around the whole cd until you feel just a little heat. use a terry cloth towel not a paper towel. be sure to rub evenly. wipe off excess. this works! ive taken really crappy cds and got them to work like new. dont use too much. about the mass of a quarter should be plenty.

go out and buy a disk doctor for christ's sake. It has a sanding element that polishes the whole disk. 30$

Ya i gotta say Disk Dr. work extremely well unless you have one hella deep scratch.

360 is still stratching up discs? I told myself I wouldn't get one until they fixed it, any official word when?

I got my one about 3 months ago, so it's pretty recent. And yeah, it made a loud grinding noise and seriously fucked my disk. Scared the shit out of me 'cause I thought I'd broken the 360 lol

last time i used toothpaste that shit completely destroyed the cd it put bad scratches all over.

car wax works for me, and i recommend it
