I dunno. The sort of people who need stability control are also the sort of people who would turn it off given the chance. How many times have you heard of one of these little Fast / Furious fuckers losing control of their car and crashing into oncoming traffic? Racing and horsing around can be done off-road or on a closed course.

Don't worry about it. Even if it does happen, there's always wires that can be snipped and sensors that can be smashed with the oh so lovely hammer.

yea, sure it will save 5000 lives a year, because 5000 people who buy new cars a year crash them.

I make myself laugh.

Whoever came up with those systems are idiots.

Maybe people should learn to be better drivers, and how to react in those types of situations instead of relying on a computer to make the decisions for you.

The problem is that they let just about anybody drive. The rules and restrictions for obtaining a license should be a lot tougher. If the rules I have in mind were enacted traffic jams would go extinct nation wide because 50-60% of drivers would be riding the bus.

But those moron drivers are voters, so this will never happen. That's why we need such systems.

this shit does wonders in the rain for people who dont know how to drive in the rain. this helps YOU and ME from these fuckers crashing into us. if you live where it snows, god help you if you dont have ESC, its like gods hands are driving the car.

while it is true we need better restrictions on the road, and better drivers, the EXC does things that normal humans cannot, and will save lives.

as a driver we don't have the ability to brake individual wheels, and we dont have enhanced gyroscopes or accellerometers to tell us all the time when a dangerous situation is occouring.

these nanny systems are going to be a necessary evil in the eyes of the dimwitted slobbering masses.

damn, what ever happened to personal responsibility and small government?

faux edit: I'm pretty sure that at least sports cars will have an off switch.
