Looked at two different 2002 4Runners, a Limited with 52,000 miles, then an SR5 with 38,000 and Factory Certified, which sounds like a good idea. Prices were $22k and $24k.

The first was at a dealership that actually does not sell on commission, which I found pretty amazing, and was very laid back and friendly. The other was commission and it showed. But that is a whole 'nuther discussion.

Anyways both cars were pretty much the same, but of course the Limited had all sorts of fancy features that I like Let me tell you, a Toyota drives WAY different from a Suburban, big surprise eh? The gas and brake are so sensitive and responsive compared to the 'Burb I was jerking all over the place getting out of the lot. It feels fairly quick and stable while driving, though I only got up to 60mph. The seats are comfortable, and I thought the back seats to be especially comfortable for back seats. Folding them down provides enough room to lay down and sleep in the back (at an angle). I'm positive this is the car I want to get, now it is just a matter of which one.

I'm looking at another tomorrow, and it is the one I like the best. Here might be my new 'whip' as they call it these days:

those are great trucks for trips, so easy to sleep comfortably in there, even with two people... though a bit smaller than the landcruiser :P

24"!!!

No, I'm going to leave it pretty stock on the outside. Maybe a brush guard and darker tint on the windows.

Anyone know about tinting over already tinted windows? The rears are stock tint, but I want to make them darker, as well as tint the front, even though that is illegal

if its factory tint, go ahead, its fine. otherwise you probably want to scrape it, even though you can ocassionally get away with tinting over it again

I'd take it to a pro. theyll remove the old stuff and put newer stuff on. usually you can get away w/ 5% darker than legal.

also, there is a new tint that actually blocks UV rays, keeping your car substantially cooler in the sun, but it costs a grip

Oh my that car is nice. Throw on the seat heaters, bump the tunes, get on the freeway.... mmmmmm.

And sure, I'll name the thread "I went out for milk and came home with this..."
