well i used to own a 240sx, but i was driving my moms/friends cars which are automatic, and i kept falling asleep, so i kept shifting to neutral when i came to a stop, then back to drive, if i shift it to neutral, does it put wear on the transmission?

no and yes. not on the clutches. just on the linkage.

torque converter is a hydraulic clutch so no abnormal wear on the trans going from n to d as oposed to shifting in full-auto.

Now. WHY? Get some more sleep plz.

why the hell would you put it in neutral when you come to a stop? i hope youre not doing this at red lights and such so you can sleep a little..

theres no bad trans damage from d to n and vice versa.

Throwing another vote behind the stop being a dipshit and driving while you're so sleepy.

I didn't think you were actually serious about falling asleep.

You're a shithead.

Well this has gone great!
