From what I've heard the R6 and CBR600 are good bikes. My buddy had a Kawi ZX-6 (Ninja) but it was pretty heavy and had tranny problems. Depends how much you want to spend I guess.

what have you ridden before? i wouldn't recommend a new 600 for a starter bike.

Try to keep the amount of fairings low as theyre expensive to replace and chances are youre going to drop the bike the first year...

I'd say something Like a CB600 maybe? I'd get that over a CBR for a first bike.

600 is way too big to learn how to ride on. I learned on a dirtbike.

maybe a regular 600, but the r6, 600rr etc are different beasts. Not saying you won't be able to handle it, just try it first before you buy one. Personally I'm partial to yamaha, but I haven't ridden excessively. Shrugs swore by the cbr600r in the 600 class bikes, above all the others. The GSX is supposed to be fastest/most hp, but the honda tears them up in the corners.
you could always be a badass and get something sweet like a ducati monster or a buell

Yeah its the 06, my buddy showed me the brochure he got w/ his bigass ninja.i think theres a zx-6 and a zx-6rr. The zx-6 is just a 600cc ninja, while the zx-6rr is actually a 636 w/ tons fo race handling mods, as well as the fact that I think its a naked bike.

anyway its really sweet, and it's the bike I'll be getting probably next year sometime

the ZX-6R is the 636, the ZX6RR is the 600cc racing version, neither are naked. maybe you're thinking of the Z1000 or the Z750?

Personally if your just starting to ride, get yourself a first gen sport bike, like something from the 80's or early 90's for starting. Your probably gonna drop it, and personally I think its best to learn on something thats under the 2k$ mark.
