Holy shit I just fucked up my wife's Mazda 6. I was removing the center console to put in a hard wired connection for her XM radio and apparently I pulled the wrong thing. I heard a crack and two pieces of the console circuit board (that controls the radio and AC, etc) fell out!

Any idea where would be a good place to get one of these boards? Amazingly everything works fine except for the AC, rear window defrost, and air circulation controls. I wonder if I could glue / solder it back together...

Mazda is freakin' ridiculous. In any other car they would just have a few wires running to a board somewhere else.

I say you start calling around. Even though the dealerships will rape you, it may be your only choice.

I found this on eBay for 50 bucks, and it uncludes the stereo too (which I don't need). But the shipping is going to be a bitch, 30+ bucks I'm guessing. I'm going to call around to some salvage yards in the morning. The dealer will be my last resort and call.

On a bright note the XM sounds great! Thank Jah I didn't do this in July, my wife would have killed me.

It doesn't seem like a hard piece to rebuild (glue+soldering). The worse that could happen if you trie is that it won't work. Just doublecheck you don't shortcircuit anything and you are good to go... my $.02

You're the real thing,

Funny.

As for rebuilding the board, I just don't have the skill. I was looking at those trace lines, etc and there's just no way I could do it.

Well, just to update it's all fixed now. I couldn't find any Mazda 6 consoles at local salvage yards, and the board I broke was only available with the whole damn assembly. Total cash and prizes was about $160 after tax. Oh well...
