I found a new bike I really want. 2005 KTM 200 EXC. I've talked the guy into selling it for 3k bucks, which is a fair price.

Quote:
I haven’t been able to ride in the dirt lately so I decided to make my 200 into a “street/supermoto” bike to play with on the street. It handles great and is a blast to ride (I always wanted a 2-stroke street bike!). I’m going to be moving away to go to college in the fall though, so the bike needs to go.

The bike has about 2100 miles on it and is in great condition both cosmetically and mechanically. There's the usual light scratches you would expect to find from use but nothing severe. There is also a small rip in the seat but that’s all I can think of. My buddy had the top end done right before he sold it to me, about 200 miles ago. It's had two full synthetic trans changes in the past 200 miles and the previous owner changed the oil after every ride with Motorex. I always use Maxima Castor 927 on my bikes for pre-mix. The exhaust is brand new, not a single dent or ding on it. The Trail Tech is displays rpm, speed, water temp, ambient temp, as well as trip/odometer/ride time/ect.. I had a set of brand new Dunlop street tires mounted about 200 miles ago and they are 99%. I will include a set of Michelin dirt tires with the bike as well as the stock shock spring. The bike has a clean title and is currently registered as a motorcycle in the state of Florida.

Aftermarket Parts:

FMF Gnarly Series Pipe
FMF Silencer
ASV Unbreakable Levers
O-Ring Sealed Chain
Trail Tech Vapor Computer
Dunlop D607 90/90 21” Front Tire
Dunlop GT501 120/90 18” Rear Tire
KTM Taillight/Fender Kit
KTM License Plate Holder
Speed Bleeders for Front Forks
Acerbis Mirror
86-250 WP Shock Spring

Also includes:
Center Stand
Tool Kit
Manuals and Briefcase

I've been more actively trying to sell my scout here lately. I have a guy offering me 3500 for it and wants me to meet his friend a few hours from my house next weekend to pick it up. I am thinking about calling him back and telling him I will do it for 3750, which is a GREAT price for my scout (from his standpoint). The reasons I am selling it are no money to finish, lost interest, no one to go play with, and no where to drive it. The closest place where it would be challenged is over 2 hours away. I'd love to keep it, but I really think I would get more enjoyment out of this dirt bike. I am planning on converting it back to dirt (pretty much just putting knobbies on it) and possibly getting another set of 17" rims to turn it into a supermoto. The plan is to go ride hare scrambles and enduros around Florida this coming up year. So, what do you think? Should I hold on to my scout and have it just sit there and take up my parents garage for another year until I can finish it, or should I go ahead and sell it and get something that I can enjoy to pretty much to its fullest extent now?

That thing is tweak3d history. Maybe it needs to be honored by mentioning its sale in the timeline.

Judging by your list of reasons to sell it, it seems to me like you have already made up your mind

I say sell it and don't look back, there will always be time to build another one some day when your interest in 4 wheeling comes back.

thats my problem. I love my scout, but it is not doing anygood just sitting there in the garage. If I lived in your area I would be a whole lot more motivated because I would have some place to really have fun. The only place around here, which is illegal, is 2-3 spots where empty canals have developed washouts. The closest place to really have some fun is tellico, but that is several hours, which I would still need to buy a trailer and there is no way I could afford the fuel to get there and back. I definately plan on getting another scout, there is even a chance that I could buy this one back from the guy, once I am done with school and have a job. I am waiting to hear back from him in a couple of hours to see if he has decided.

That's sad to hear Justin... but I'm sure the buyer will appreciate the love you put into it.

Given how much work you've put into it, and the paltry sum you're asking for it, I'd suggest you keep it. A few years from now and your circumstances may change and you wish you still had it.

Yea, I do feel that way a little. However, if I had it to do over again there are a ton of things I would do differently. The guy should let me know sometime this week if he is going to take it or not.
