Last event of the year down at Lebonan Valley, so I was like I gotta run before the year ends.

Cars mods... ehhh not many, MBC, K and N filter, Ported exhaustmanifold, turbine housing and o2 housing(all by me), Dejon Tool upper intercooler pipe... uhh.. free mods... thats it. Ran once.. boost spikes to 15psi for a second and drops to 13psi.. anyone that knows DSMs knows that NOTHING...Oh and stock exhaust, intercooler, fuel, clutch, all season tires, car is very lightly modded.

60 - 1.722
330 -5.436
1/8 -8.588
mph -78.26
1000 -11.330
1/4 -13.691
mph -94.77

Im happy, my car was built very low budget, I cant wait till next year when I throw a little more boost and an exhaust on it, I wanna get this 14b into the 12s.

hudsmack's

Gamercard

You 60 foot time is craptastic. Maybe it's the turbo lag or your launch, but you have to do something about that.

You could get your trap speeds up and ultimately lower your ETA with a lower 60'.

The time is good though.

How do you figure a 1.7 60' is shitty for a FWD turbo car on street tires? I'd be lucky to break a 2.1

The car is AWD.. and how do you figure, I'm not gonna cut a better 60 foot than that, no turbo lag, rev to 5500rpm then a qucik slip/dump and the traction was unbelieveable. The car has more in it as is sits, and a LOT more in it with just a few small mods.

Similar speed MR2s are in the 1.5-1.6 for a 60 foot, so your AWD beast should be around that I think too, you have two more wheels for traction

That truck sucks as well - I went from a 2.0 60' at etown to a 2.5 60' at lebanon valley -- similar track conditions

Um.. I dunno, you guys do realize this was on 205/55/16" all seasons in 50 degree weather? I looked on NEDSM's quarter mile archive, and outa all the DSMs in the 13's, (19 of them), I have the quickest short time. Mr2s are also LIGHT and the motor is right over.. well almost over the tires.

They're not light, the turbo models are 3000lbs.. (MR2s just aren't lightweight cars, especially not for their size) Similar to your car. Yes the motor is right over the drive wheels, but you have 4 wheels to move yourself with, which is why my point was that you should have a faster 60 foot time. Two wheels is always less traction than 4

Still very good times

Fantastic 60' times, that thing must launch like crazy. Trap speed is seriously lacking, making me think it must dog out on the top end.

To a better Tweak3d.

Im thinkin of the older s/c MR2s.. those wiegh that much? Sry for confusion.

Here the vid : http://www.massdriven.com/media/ETs/...d-10-30-05.wmv
...Dont mind my r/t.. oh and that mutang was a s/c 429.

And yes, It did launch very quick, 1st gear was non existent I had to shift right away. Car felt amazing in 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th.. I was knocking, getting timing pulled. I was reading on DSMtimes.org, handfuls of other 14b talons with similar 60 foots and 1/8th mile times are running low low 13s at ~100mph. Shows my car fell on its face after the 1/8... Next year @ 18psi with exhaust, low 13s are no prob.

BULL FUCKING SHIT MR2s RUN 1.5 60's without TONS of mods and/or on slicks

I want to see an MR2 that traps 94 MPH and pulls 1.5s on street tires, because they don't exist.

(EDIT: I should've seen it was you, Dustin, you're such a shit-talker )

It sounds like you're off to a great start at driving your DSM.

FWIW don't believe everything you read on DSMtimes.org and other sites. My car ran 13.6@98 with a similar setup as yours, plus exhaust. Its best is a 12.9 with the addition of a 16G and some race gas. I haven't been out for a couple years now.

No you're right Dan, 1.5 60' for MR2s are for cars in the 11-12 second range, my bad . For mid-13s like Fonz they're more in the 1.8-2.0 range according to our 1/4 mile registry

I dont know anything about drag racing anyway

Yeah, my 60 foot was quite respectable.

Picked up some new mods, Lucas 550cc injectors and a 2g MAS, and soon soon I'm picking up a SAFC 2 and 2.5 Turboback.. oh I got a VR4 pump to go in, so I'm all set for fuel.. for my lil' 14b that is.. I want high 12s next year... @ 18psi with more mods I don't see it being THAT far of a fetch, but ehh anythign could happen.
