Once a year in august they shut down the local airport and use the strip for a 1/4 mile drag strip. They are pushing to build a permanent track, but there's a lot of red tape involved.

Anyways, i raced my Bone stock 87 GT for the first time. Had lots of fun, 1st day, no traction, track was cold without much rubber laid down either.

Today the track warmed up and there was a lot more rubber. I ran 1 more time trial run this morning, and then headed into eliminations. Made it to the 2nd round, beating out a 70s duster. In the 2nd round, i came up against a nasty Dodge Dart, i ended up missing 2nd gear, and got my ass handed to me.

Best run for the weekend was a 14.785 @ 92.26MPH. Better than what i was expecting for a stock, 20yr old car, with 2.73s gears and my first time racing it.

My reaction times were pretty shitty for the most part, best was a .155.

Best 60ft was a 2.138 (~3500RPM rolling of the clutch)

Here's some pics my buddy took.

Your buddy definitely has some skill with the camera. Out of curiosity, know what effect he used to make the HDR like colors?

Also, I usually don't say this about Mustangs, let alone 80's stangs, but nice ride.

That's the important stuff from the EXIF Data. Seriously though, that guy must have a pretty expensive lens on his 5d.

It was worth every penny, best lens i've ever used, tack sharp even at f1.2, plus the insanely shallow dof that you can get with that lens and the 5d made it all the worth while. And yes, 1/4000sec is WAY faster than i wanted, it was even overcast and i was at ISO50, but it was still a tad bright for f1.2.

I got lazy and just used the Lucisart plugin i have for CS3. I used the exposure part of it, it basically gives it a bit of the HDR look.

I freakin' knew it was you. It looked very similar to those badass supermoto pics you threw on here a while back. What lens do you have? links?

Offroadin, lose the wheel well moldings. Those things are freaking nasty. Only people who have them out here are Mexicans.

Ha ha. If only it were that easy. I hate them as well. Unfortunately the body doesn't look as good as the car runs.

Around here mustangs like to rust, and this one is no exception. Those flares are there to cover up the fact that the wheel well lip is partially rusted. I didn't put them on the car.

One day after im finished school im going to build up a super clean 4 banger notch. Swap my running gear into it. This car's body has been abused :/ aka looks good form 10ft

haha, glad someone remembered me
The lens i was using for that shot was my Canon EF 85mm F1.2L lens(here's a review of it http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/len..._12/index.htm), for the other shots i was using a rented Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS lens. I wish i could've kept that one...

Oh my god! I just searched for that lens. It goes for over $1800! You are a crazy bastard for having that!

Sorry to hear about the body rot. It's so easy to forget about that, seeing as it just plain doesn't happen out here. We just get constantly sandblasted.

Not bad for a stock Foxbody, too bad you don't have a real track. Eliminations are alot of fun, last time I went I couldn't run better than a 14.6, so I put 14.45 as my dial-in.. first run of eliminations, I ran a 14.44

Yeah. I know she had more in it. If I had my way, i woulda been in another round, and drumping the clutch at 4500 instead of 3500 once there was some traction.

But considering its 20yrs old, never been touched, still has the stock cats which are probably plugged to shit, i thought it was decent.
