What's the recommended interval on the timing belt? My Honda's got 155k and it's stock AFAIK. I'll check it one of these days...

I'm Tweak3D's self-appointed mayor.

Insight has a timing chain and is (mostly) maintenance free.

Congrats on the big 100,000? I guess. My Civic is nearing 280,000

All the Honda's I've had have been done every 60k or 70k. It's one of the few "major" maintenance things that Honda's need to have done often.

I've got around 20,000 on my Honda. It's got the Maintenance Minder system so I don't have to think about shit like timing belts anymore. The car will tell me what it needs when it needs, I fucking love it.

Yeah I think they're recommended every 60k, might want to do it since it's an interference motor. Just check and see if it looks stretched or not.

Integra rolled over 205k on the way back from work.
Andddd MSP I'm pretty sure the maintenance reminder is just for oil changes and the stupid ripoff services they have at the dealership, it's not gonna tell you to change your t-belt.

I got 61,500 on my 2002 Dodge Neon SE. Still maintenance free so far except once in a while the oil disappears but that hasn't happened for a while. I hope it makes it past 100,000 miles

Uh, your car is almost 10 years older than his, of course he's got 65k fewer miles.

the dealership recommends it every 100k. i know a honda mechanic and he recommends that i do the water pump, tensioner and thermostat at the same time. im gonna do it myself. i hear of them making it to 200 without the timing belt change but i dont even want to fuck around with a new engine when ive taken such good care of this one. im gonna go flip through the owners manual and see what it says as far as maintenance, i ought to change the oil in my transmission probably as well.

Yeah if you're gonna tear all that stuff down anyway you might as well change the water pump and thermostat.

Haha it would be stupid to not change the water pump, you'll see once you get that t-belt off.

I was in my friends Fox last year when it rolled over 1,000,000.

I'm trying to evolve.
