Some asshat poured baking soda or some shit into my gas tank and killed my fuel pump. I am trying to find one cheaper than the dealer's quote of $500+. Anyone know where I can buy a fuel pump for a 2006 GMC Envoy XL (and yes, I am out of warranty; I put 40k miles on the car in 14 months.)

Autozone Autoaid Kragen pepboys come to mind. I'm sure they all have different names half a country away.

There once was a man named Bertold

Oh, snap! You just got limerickrolled!

hudsmack's

Gamercard

They are running ~$330 at AutoZone. If that price from your dealer includes installation, that is not too bad at all. If you can install it yourself, you'll save $170 which sounds about right for labor (2 hours @ $85 hour).

Wait, baking soda? How did you find that out?

Installation may be a bitch on that. Most vehicles' fuel pumps require you to drain and drop the tank. It can be a pretty big job... especially on an SUV.

There was a bunch of the powder left all over the nozzle area, its definitely fucking baking soda

oh ya, its going to be a bitch. The gas tank rests right over the rear axle too. woot. luckily a friend of mine has a full size lift in his garage

quote of $500whatever was just for the part. Not sure what they wanted for labor. I ought to call and ask. If it was $500 for the dealer to do the whole damn thing, I'd just say fuck it and go that route
