"whew that's an ugly sumbitch"

-my initial reaction

but cool bike, especially for free should save on some gas mileage

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone ...

That's a beaut man! Once you get it running like a champ, it'll be great!

You should seek out an internet forum for that model. I found one for my 81 yamaha 550 and it's been a wealth of information. I'm pumped for you.

I have no idea what Im gonna do to it yet. It really all depends on how much I like it. Like I said Ive never rode before.

But I know Ill be putting new pipes on it shortly. Since its a classic I will probably just keep the stock look if I do anything.

Just know that you'll probably drop it a few times learning, so spare a new paintjob until you get more comfortable riding.

Hmm, just noticed it's got a kickstart. Does it have an electric start too? On an older bike I'd say having the option to kickstart is a bit of a blessing.

The z900 was the 'dog's bollocks' in its day.

Hey sevendust learn to ride it over the next year and then come over to the 'Isle of man TT races'; will certainly sort out if you can ride it or not

Just watching it on tv at the moment; These guys are absolutely fearless / complete nutters

The TT is a road race round the 'Isle of Man'; normally 1 person is seriously injured or killed every year. I'm not wishing that on you though

get it fixed and get out there

Hey cool. Glad to hear there is another Isle of Man TT fan here. It really is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing isn't it.

I just recently watched a pretty good doc on one particular rider, whose life long dream was to compete. Gave up everything to get there, qualified, rode, survived. Good story. Worth watching, but rather hard to find. I had to just go ahead and buy it. His website was the only place I could find it. One Man's Island

[quote=smirnoff;224725]Hey cool. Glad to hear there is another Isle of Man TT fan here. It really is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing isn't it.

Watched a flying lap with on board camera on a giles martin (think thats his name!) practice lap, fuck me, I think all I would have said all the way round would be "oh my god", "shit me pants", "oh my god", "shit me pants", "oh my god", "shit my pants".

will look for that documentary!

Its TT week now. Being shown every night on UK ITV4; race highlights. My ex's uncle (a good friend!) goes to the manx gp every year, am trying to blag my way onto the back of his or his mate's bikes wish me luck
