| Tweak Minion | What do you all run in your dirt bikes and atvs? It just cost me 38 bucks to do an oil and filter change in my 2000 XR400. It was $13 a liter, but that is just marginally more expensive then all of the other full synthetics. It is worth it to go with the real nice synthetic oil (I went with Repsol 4T racing) or will the cheap stuff work just fine? Only real concern is that, from what I have read, the bike has a wet clutch. |

| Tweak Minion | I run the maxima shit. Seems to be of high quality. |

| Habitual line stepper | Standard motor oil is fine in motorcycles. I seriously doubt there's a difference between maxima oil and Mobil1. I use really light weight Mobil1 in my bike. Something like 0w-10(or 20). I know it's expensive, but my bike only takes 2 quarts so it's not the end of the world. Basic(cheap) 10W-30 will work fine in a motorcycle, so long as you're no racing it in the desert for days on end. |

| Tweak Minion | I assume most of the motorcycle guys on here will check this so no need to start a new thread. I want better lighting on my XR400. I do a bit of night riding here and the stock light sucks. At the same time, I don't want to spend 500 bucks on a Baja designs kit, so I am going to try and peice together my own. I have already read up on rewinding the stator and I'll do the 125 watt rewind. I am thinking about running 2 hella 500 lights. I think they'll be better then the Baja Designs kit based on the fact that they are cheap and a slim profile. I have an option, I can run 1 driving, 1 fog, 2 driving, 2 fog, or 1 driving and 1 fog (swap one with my scout which I kind of wanted anyways). Anyone here done something simular to this? I figure I'll weld up a quick cage and come up with some sort of a quick-ish release so I don't have to worry about smashing them up every time I go out. What do you all think? I should be able to pull this off for around 100 bucks including rewinding the stator, lights, voltage regulator and misc parts to mount them. |
