What do you all think of Husqvarna bikes? If I can sell my scout for 5500 (not impossible), I am considering getting this bike:

2007 Husqvarna SMR 450 for sale in Land O Lakes, FL: Dual Sport - CycleTrader.com

Opinions? I really have lost interest in my scout, no one to ride with and only a couple of areas to take it too, but unless I want to drive out of state there really is no where to play with it.

I have heard awesome things about the Husky bikes. Been told they are amazingly durable, and long lasting bikes. They are also supposedly quick as shit. I'd give it a shot, sounds like a lot of fun.

Husqvarna's are great bikes. I dont have any first hand experience but I've looked into them a lot and really want one.

On that note, it looks ridiculous with that moto-x set up.

How expensive are the parts for Husky's? $6k seems pretty pricey for a used bike. What's wrong with your XR? Why not get a different dual sport/enduro for less?

I've had zero experience with Husky, so I can't comment on them.

Nothing is wrong with the XR, it is my trail bike. The Husky is only 1 year old with ~1,000 miles on it. New, MSRP is $7,300. He said he "needs" to get $5,300 for it, which is 2k off. Anyways, I am not deadset on THIS bike, just pondering my options. From what I have read, Huskys are very nice bikes, just not very popular in the US for some reason.

I also can do this:

GP Bikes :. T R A C K D A Y I N F O

It is my friends neigbhors shop. They go around once a month, it looks like quite a bit of fun. I also liked hearing them talk about how the guys on supermoto bikes would pass them in the corners

Well, that just looks whacky

I already wasn't a big fan of stadium races, but now they incorporated some weird hybrid sport.

I don't know. I'm a trail rider. That's where the fun is.

I don't know anything about their bikes, but I own and use their chainsaws all the time

Possibly a new deal....

This guy has a '97 S10, I am waiting for him to get back to me on it. I am considering swaping my dodge for his s10 and this 2006 Husaberg FS650c.

Here is what he says about it. He owns a shop here in Florida, so I imagine he takes care of it.
Quote:
This bike has only 75.5 hours.

-It is titled in Florida as a street bike. I have it registered, and as far as I know, you could transfer it with little trouble to 48 other states. Please do your homework in your state if you intend to register it. It has the main wiring harness from the e model and the headlight, tail/brake light, and tag can be installed or removed in less than two minutes. I run the minimum needed to be legal in FL, so I installed mirrors but no turn signals, no horn. E-start is stock.

-This bike is very quick, very light, and has been very reliable. The motor is totally stock and I have not had to make any mechanical repairs to it. I have changed oil and filters constantly and adjusted the valves a couple times. It is all very easy to do. Parts are readily available and I have the Parts Manual, Service Manual, and Owner’s Manual, which are similar to what KTM publishes for their bikes, and very detailed.

-I think the bike has been set-up pretty nicely. The stock suspension has been adjusted to where I really like it. It does not wobble at any speed and does not need a stabilizer. It does have an adjustable triple clamp (stock), so if you want it to steer quicker, you can set it up that way. It has carb and coolant catch bottles, a couple sets of gearing, Fastway solid-mount handguards, Factory jet kit w/ emulsion tube, Husaberg axle and footpeg sliders, KTM Hard Parts black wheels with cush drive rear hub, a new gold RK X-ring chain, and some Michelin Pilot Powers .

Don't need signals on your dual sports in FL?

yea, but so is that XR650. Im not terribly interested in getting the fastest bike out there, I just want something to have fun on and gets decent milage. I really would like a Husky 450, but I figure something cheap and reliable like a DRZ would not be a bad idea for me right now. The guy is opening up a shop, so maybe I can get him to throw in a discount or something, assuming he is willing to trade.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust it..... Don't mess around with exotic bikes if you want something conservative. Just not worth the trouble. You would wind up spending a fortune on it if anything broke, as it's all custom. Just my .02.....

Really, that bike on has the plastics removed, a new headlight, and a new exhaust. Eitherway, the guy is not interested in trading me. I found this, the guy is interested in trading for my dodge, so hopefully I can get him to do the bike + $5k or something.

It's got more than plastics removed. It's missing a chunk of the sub-frame.

That DRZ looks pretty dang clean. I wouldn't mind riding that around town.
