I got 38 and 44 wrong, but I am petty sure I was right.

48 had two possible answers but its said I was wrong for saying suction instead of atmospheric. But atmospheric would be a secondary cause and the piston would be the primary. Any engineering prof would have given me that one as well.

I'm trying to evolve.

Heh, that one had me stumped for a little bit as well.

90%. Suprised I got the ones wrong that I did. I expected to do most poorly on the electrical.

hmmm, when i was in auto in high school they always said atmospheric pressure and now that im doing the a&p gig the federal aviation administration says the same thing. i got a 94%

The air moves in because the pressure in the atmosphere is greater than the pressure in the cylinder. But the pressure differential wasn't caused by atmospheric pressure rising, it was caused by the piston moving down and lowering the pressure in the cylinder.

Im a petroleum engineer not a mechanical engineer though, maybe they think differently. If I put a pump down an oil well to lower the pressure at the bottom of the well and allow oil to flow in I say the pump is causing the flow of oil and not the reservoir pressure.

I'm trying to evolve.

I think that question could be debated as well.

Yup, you are correct. It takes a differential in pressure to cause motion of a fluid. It is caused by the decreasing pressure in the cylinder due to the piston lowering. This is how I was taught back in physics.

question 15 with the pullies was bullshit. A direct pull without pullies will require less force because no matter how good the pullies are they will always have friction.

The piston question i agree with the above, air moves because of pressure differential, which is caused by the piston moving down.

I got 80%

but most of that shit, I've learned in school. Others I got wrong because I'm in computer engineering.

Glad to see some sub-90% scores, I was starting to feel like a retard. I took lots of science in school but no physics. I can draw chemical bonds, electron orbits, analyze your urine, etc, but I'm pretty rusty with the physics.
