I guess that'll get some manufacturers back to the drawing board... Even though it says right there that because of the use it doesn't offer much of fuel saving, the tree-huggers will make a huge thing about it.

seems like a rotary diesel would undermine diesels torque potential with huge compression

The diesel actually gets quite a few more mpgs then then other racing cars, enough to chop off 2 pit stops. The real benifit is proving that a diesel can burn clean. The cars did not puff any smoke. They have particle filters on them, but that is only because "its the politically correct thing to do"

The r10 also won sebring by 4-5 laps and beat the fastest lap record by 2 seconds.
