I figure bike's belong in gearhead garage since they have ah.... gears!

I currently own a bmx and a road bike but the road bike is falling apart and needs a new drive train (chain and derailer) and wheels. So I may replace it and donate it to some homeless person. (read: leave it unlocked in front of my office building)

A coworker has a 2007 Kona Stuff with upgraded disk brakes, a set of road tires and the orignal tires that have never been used. The bike has only been used to commute about a dozen times and he wants $800 for it. ($1200 here new with no upgrades) I am gonna go ride it tomorrow and if it has no issues probably offer him $750 for it.

Unless of course one of the bike gurus on the board knows something about this model that I don't.

I'm trying to evolve.

i have no idea about that bike but riding bikes is great, ive been saving a ton of dough, that investment will pay for itself if you use it regularly, plus all the exercise youll get.

the kona stuff is a bit of a stump jumper, I've ridden one (shruggles has one and used to be my roomate) decent bike but definitely not a great commuter bike. The size and shape of the frame will kill your knees on long rides.
