Yes, you heard right, a 380 horsepower Hyundai from the factory.

Motor Authority » Hyundai unveils Genesis sedan

Quote:
The car’s new RWD platform is confirmed to get either a 4.6L Tau V8 with 380hp (283kW) or one of two Lambda V6 engines displacing 3.3L and 3.8L and developing 265hp (197kW) and 305hp (227kW), respectively. These are very impressive figures, especially the numbers for the new V8, which outstrip those of the Pontiac GT’s 6.0L V8 by a significant 18hp. Drive will be sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
This coupled with the new Genesis Coupe and the fact that Hyundai has been ranking in the top 5 for quality might actually mean that Hyundai has arrived a car company.

Hyundai really has progressed. They used to suck so bad but now they are pretty badass. That is a nice car.

Man, that car looks like fun. Hopefully see it on Top Gear or something soon.

I wonder what segment of the market they're shooting for? That has to be in BMW, Cadillac, Mercedes territory...

Yeap, especially with the advanced cruise control that keeps a set distance from the car in front of it.

No thanks, if I want a luxury car, I'll buy a real luxury car. Not something that I can get approved for at the payday loan store on the corner.

That car does look really nice and the motor's impressive. I bet it'll be a hell of a lot more than $10,000 -- probably $30,000 (guessing).

They all steal from each other, but these pics indicate Mercedes or Lexus, with maybe a BMW rear. There's no good pic of the back in the article.

It doesn't matter how nice it looks or how many features it has on it. If it has the name KIA or Hyundai on it, I ain't touchin' it.

I agree with Kia, however, Hyundai is a respectable brand now.

Yes, but Hyundai quality ranks near the top whereas Kia's are still sub-10,000$ cars.

this might be true, but Hyundai is just blatant about it and its pathetic. look at a 2007 sonata verses an 4 door accord. its just brutal, they might has well have called it the Hyundai a-cord.

look at the picture of the Genesis, then look up a this years Mercedes S600 off their site....
