Ford kills the SVT program

that sucks, I was looking forward to the new lightning, as well as the new cobra.

Now from what I have read, this doesnt mean the end of special vehicles...

They will keep the cobra, but it will be called the Shelby Cobra, the ford 500 is still in production, just nothing will have svt badges. They will probably announce some SVO badged stuff (hopefully a new lightning or some focus stuff) Kinda like they did with the escort and a few other cars.

SVT dealers had a monopoly on selling SVT cars, and seeing as the 500 was an SVT car, Ford didnt like the idea. so they canned the project, and are now allowed to sell "svt" cars where ever they please.

thats just what i got from reading other people's takes.

Well the heart and soul of the SVT concept are now gone. They will probably still come out with some cool cars, but the SVT stuff was just downright badass.
