I currently working on my craftsman race tractor with my friend, I have a queston, the battery for its 11hp Briggs and stratton engine is huge and heavy. could i go for a smaller battery because my other friend has a battery 1/2 the size of this for his 11hp go cart. will the chargeing and starting system still work right if I converted over. PS I do know what Volts and Amps are.

I was a Dragon force fan before Guitar Hero..

nope, i dont think you could use charging system on a battery thats less volts than it should be. it has that size battery for a reason.

As long as both systems run the same voltage most likely 12, but could be 6 on older models. Charging system will be fine, except you won't have as much cold cranking capacity. As long as the battery isn't too small it should be fine.

As long as both batteries are the same voltage and can handle the same amps, then you should be fine. Smaller size batteries sometimes cant handle higher amps and will heat up leak.

Its a sealed battery, so I dont think they leak but, if the battery keeps getting really hot I will go back to the original.

I dont think you know what volts and amps are. If that smaller battery isn't designed to handle as high amps as the larger battery, charging the smaller battery with that larger batteries charger(assuming you cant adjust amp/voltage on the charger) you may cause the battery to leak/explode.

You would need to get a new charging setup if the smaller battery cant handle the same ammount of continuous amps.
