I think it might be the steel wheels causing my brakes to slip. | |

| Habitual line stepper | Take the bent wheel into a bike shop and they can true it. They usually charge anywhere from $10-20 per wheel. I put motorcycle chain wax on my bike chain about every 100 miles. You could go much longer though. |

| liberal crybaby | You'd think that in the bike friendly city of Portland we'd have drivers that are more aware. The other night I rode up to the grocery store on my bike to get some bread. I ended up nearly getting caked by an SUV pulling out of their parallel spot. I blamed it on the fact that I didn't have lights and they couldn't see me very well in the dark. Fast forward to this afternoon. I was riding up to the bike shop to get some lights today and someone did the exact same thing. I swerved out of the way and ended up overcompensating, so I went flying. Messed up my arm and ankle pretty bad, but I'm ok. The brakes on the bicycle got a little mangled but it isn't anything I can't fix. I also slammed my head on the pavement pretty hard, but fortunately I was wearing a helmet. There are times that I've gone without a helmet, but now I've learned my lesson. Not going to leave the house without it ever again. |
