| Chief Webologist | eBay Motors: Ford : Mustang (item 180196333748 end time Dec-22-07 13:00:44 PST) It'd be worth it if you were filthy rich and wanted to set this icon in your living room or something. Factory race cars are awesome. What a sweet investment. |

| Has Absolutely no life | My dads friend has a vette like that, I actually put pictures of it up here. |

| Globe Trekker | But for $90,000 imagine what you could buy? I'd rather have a stock Vette or just about anything else. They go fast in a straight line, but that thing could probably be smoked by a tricked out Mini Cooper in a road race. |

| Tweak Minion | Well fuck. How much did this car cost new? These wouldn't be bad investments. Get a new car today and not use it for 7 years and then sell it. |

| ¡pɹɐpuɐʇs ploƃ | Fuck the Vette. A GT-R is cheaper. Not to mention it's not even a decent looking Mustang. |

| Chief Webologist | It's a Cobra R, though. It's not a stock 2000 GT. There were only 300 made and I'd bet 200+ of those became ragged out track cars immediately. This thing has 11 miles on it despite being 8 years old. And sure it "only" had 400-450 HP (according to dyno numbers), a 6-speed, badass suspension, brakes, state of the art aero-dynamics, and a gutted interior / no sound deadener (that sounds featureless, but remember it's a factory race car). They also were only sold to people with a competition racing license. "It was equipped with a wind tunnel tested removable front air dam that reduced front lift by as much as 10 times, and a large rear wing that adds 3 times the downforce over the stock wing. Other exterior add ons were a large cowl induction hood, side exhaust side skirts, and 18 inch wheels." Yes, you could buy a Vette, but that's not the point. If you kept a stock 2000 Vette and this in a garage together, each with 11 miles, the Cobra R would become infinitely more valuable in the long run. This was a race car straight from the factory. It'd take a LOT for a Mini Cooper to outrun one of these. BTW, the MSRP was originally $54,995. Although if I bought it, as mentioned, it'd sit in my house untouched and continue to appreciate in value. There are better things to spend $90k on, but I think anyone can appreciate a car kept "so" stock for so long. |

| Globe Trekker | Just based on scarcity it's probably worth $90,000. But at the end of a day it's still a Mustang. If I couldn't sell or trade it I wouldn't give you more than $20,000. |

| Not Just Handsome | Well, I guess the appeal of the car is that it only has 11 miles on it. You can't really drive it too much or else it loses what makes it worth so much. Unless you're very rich and can afford to have this plus another car you can actually drive. It's a damn nice car, though. |

| Saint, Church of Ryanism | Just as MSP said, it's still just a mustang... I have had the chance to buy a ton of much more desirable cars for much less. I know a guy who owns a 1936 Chevy sedan which I could buy cheap. It's all original (motor not even rebuilt), runs, and drives great. The paint even looks immaculant! Could probably own it for well under $10,000. Those are the cars to buy. Those are the ones that can really return an incredible profit for the amount of money invested. ~Will Courtier~ |
