I really wanted to make it to E3 one day, now it looks like it won't happen.

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

eh it was getting out of hand

I mean, who doesnt enjoy drinking, booth babes, and the hottest hardware and software? no one. Everyone wanted to be there, and alot of them did. It was just getting too big, too decadent. it's about time it went back to it's roots of press only small gathering

I know they buried her body with others
Her sister and mother and 500 families
And will she remember me 50 years later?
I wished I could save her in some sort of time machine
Know all your enemies
We know who our enemies are

Ah well it was fun while it lasted. Bigger companies will still have their own shows. The last few years I went were overrun with smelly fat dudes molesting booth babes and other people that had no business being there.
Somehow I doubt this will end the E3 crunch.

I hope you die

It was bound to happen c onsidering how overrun it's been with non-industry types lately. Still, a shape. I remember first reading about E3 in the mid-90s in Next Generation magazine and dreamed of going there. I went 4 or 5 times in the last 7 years or so.

Good, now there's no need for G4 to stay on the air.

I think its a side effect of so many non-industry people who visisted this last year that it is being changed so much. The reason is this: gamer generated hype. Specifically related to the wii. All I heard about from E3 was the wii and how great it was. What about EA, Sony, Ubisoft? Each of those companies probably paid 6 figures for their booth locations and periphenalia. What do you remember from E3 about any of those companies (other than the cost of the ps3.) Essentially, nothing. If the expo was more limited to the press like it was intended from the beginning, sure you would have gotten some wii coverage, but you'd also be getting a much more diverse idea of the overall show from professional reviewers. It is not in any company's interest to throw away tons of money for no reason.

This is why I miss my subscription to EGM. They always had a wide array of things to say. Now all I have is access to fucking blogs which all say "NINTENDO IS THE RULE, SONY ARE SHOOTING THEMSELVES AND Ps3 SUCKS LAWLS ROFFLES!"

^ Yeah, but what does that tell you about the product? The gamers are going to be the ones buying and playing the stuff, if the hype was the Wii.. well, then there you have it. Obviously the Wii is going to be the hot product. Gamers won't flock to shit, nor will the flock to something that doesn't get their attention.
