Hitman Codename 47
Hitman 3
Splinter Cell CT
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

I enjoyed Manhunt. Thief II was also excellent, although not as good as Thief I, in my opinion.

Sneaking games .. MGS ? ... Medal of Honor Pacific Assault is a lot about stealth once you get to the island missions .. they're dificult as you need to either avoid enamies or flank them while staying undetected .. rushing means suicide.

On less related note: I prefer more offensive Rouge - stleath is damned usefull tho - a must for any Rouge .

Hitman Contracts (the third game) is really spectacular. They basically take the engine and formula that they perfected in the 2nd game, and tell most of the story through flashback. Which is great, because if you play Contracts, it really illustrates enough of the backstory that you're not missing anything if you never played the original. And anyone who remembers killing legions of people without consequence will definately breathe a sigh of relief at being able to actually get through many levels from the first game with some actual stealth and professionalism.

Damn, I love the Hitman series.

Props to anyone who has mentioned the Metal Gear Solid series. Even though the games have their flaws (most notably being severly fucked up storylines and heavy use of cutscenes), I don't think any stealth sneaking game gets even close to the MGS series. The gameplay is just on another level. My personal favorite is still MGS2, but that's just me. The fourth one for PS3 seems completely bad ass, and not to mention the re-release of Snake Eater with online play. I can't wait!

Deus Ex

while not strictly a "stealth" game, it can most definitely be played that way. You can play this game essentially any way you want. If you want to play it stealthy-sneaky, that's just as do-able as rockets-and-shotguns-and-mayhem. It's is getting pretty old now, but I haven't played another game since that I enjoyed anywhere near as much as Deus Ex. One of the greatest games ever, by far.
