wow, cant even play the game anymore it locks up right after it loads a save in the second safehouse in bohan. I mustve shutdown and restarted the 360 4 times now.

ive already cleared the cache once, before i started playing the game.
now i cant clear it anymore for some reason.. i do the XXLBRBXX in rename/reformat screen but the maintenance box doesnt show up anymore.

i think im screwed.
any suggestions??

EDIT: now its locking up with red graphical glitches BUT NO red ringing, without the hdd installed
i guess its time to get it repaired AGAIN. :\

EDIT2: locking up on orangebox right after a load... hmm.. no red rings though and im still able to goto the blade

I'm not sure about your problem but I know that I quit for two days after random freezes. A quick google search had a ton of random freezing issues, ps3/xbox, and people are pissed. Unfortunately I can't pin it down to anything as it's completely random.

Off Topic: I can't change targets with my gun after the target dies; I have to let off LT and then retarget which really blows.

I only have one buddy who bought a 360 and he's had to have it repaired at least once. Lots of friends with the Wii, not one problem to date.

It's so sad too, I really prefer my 360 over my PS3, but I bought the PS3 version of GTA4 just to play it safe.
I wish MS would just fix the damned system. I've had 3 friends that have sold their 360's recently and replaced them with PS3's because of the system failures. It's really hurting the brand.

Ouch that really sucks. I'm on my second and while I love it for the games/media center I may move to the PS3 if it happens again.

I'd go with the PS3 version... I second my thought on the 360 pick-up...

Especially with the ring of fire still out there. With all that's in this game, I fear it will be the end of alot of xbox's

On that note though, microsoft has been really great about the whole thing with extending the warranty and also a really quick turn around time.

Mines about a year and a few months old now and still going. Time to knock on wood though i guess.

They have quick turnarounds because they're sending back refurbs that, from my readings, have the same defect rate as the originals.

My 360 gave me RROD and I got a refurb back in two weeks. This one gets less hot, but still warm enough all over to cause worry. I hate to bring it up again but the PS3's cooling system is far better and simply swiping my hand above and below the system doesn't show it to be overly warm/hot. I don't remember the number but I know that Microsoft lost a nice chunk from the warranty extensions. Despite the extension, it doesn't make customers more secure about their purchase. It's basically a corporate way of saying that, "You have 3 years for your console to crap out and get a refurb."

but theres not achievements on the ps3!!! theres some weird satisfaction, a joy, a satisfying accomplishment when you beat a game and on top of beating the game you're given "points" and achievement marks to be proud of..

damn achievement system.. i knew it was a psychological ploy to keep 360 gamers loyal.

its the one thing that keeps me coming back to a game for replay value.. otherwise i'd just toss the game after a quick completion...

EDIT: i called em up and i should be recieving another box this week.. hopefully the turnaround will be as fast as last time.. they better give me a better conditiond 360 as well.. this one's front button had no "feedback" when pressed, and had scratches all over it.. not to mention the separator holes for opening the case looks tampered.. so im worried they're going to notice this and say i tried to do it.

if they send it back claiming it looks to be tampered, you guys will hear about it.. because i'll be in a fit of rage.

There's a lot of freezing issues with both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 version. It's more common on the PS3. Just because it freezes doesn't mean it's gonna RROD. The game has a glitch.
