I actually agree with this. It just seems like cheating to me.

I hope they DON'T lose. This would just open the door for more hacks and exploits not only in WoW but other MMOs as well.

I hope you die

i really don't see what the problem with it is. blizzard is still getting their money a month. what does it matter if someone is physically sitting in front of their computer or not...ya it's a form of cheating but it's not like it's an "unlimited ammo" or "unlimited life" cheat or something. glider does the same thing that you would do, just it does it when you aren't there.

Their monetary concerns im sure stem from the fact that a glider will get you to 70 in no time at all. Given a normal persons schedule (not a wow junkies schedule) it takes months to get to 70. Multiply this by the amount of classes the average player takes to 70 and they're losing money from thier monthly payments.
Given that they do charge an arm and a leg for monthly fees, I don't really feel pity for them.

From a players perspective these skew the economy and also lower level grouping possibilities. So i'd rather see them taken out.
Not to mention other players feeling like everyone using them is cheating while they have to work to get what they want and would raise hell if blizzard just let these things slide.

I'm on the fence on this one. For some people (like me) I hate leveling so bad that I almost don't play MMO's because of it. It's what's after max lvl is hit that keeps me there. That's why I'm on the 'for' side of glider, although I've never used it.

On the other hand...

It does screw with the economy. Setting a path to run to farm for motes, leather, cloth, or whatever, floods the market with more items than should really be on there. That in turn forces those who get their items the Legit way to sell thier items for less gold/money than what it would normally be worth because of the massive amount on the market. Supply and Demand. Blizzard has spent alot of time getting the markets to work the way they should, and having massive amounts of such items being placed on the market drowns out the true value of items.

Glider ruins the game for everyone that pays for World of Warcraft.

If you play hundreds of hours per month (for the specific purposes of grinding, skill crafting, leveling, and earning money) and an automated bot does the same, why would you want to play? The thing is, most players don't know about Glider and are being cheated out of their WoW-time ... they're playing against people that have bot running all the time.

This might not seem to matter to you, but if you've played the game a lot without cheating, it's pretty discouraging to find out that other players have been. The whole goal of the game is leveling, gear, money, and so-on. Automating the process for *any* players disrupts the balance so severely that the entire WoW-audience is compromised. Blizzard has to win this case if MMOs as we know it are to survive. Glider opens the door to ruining all stats-based MMO games in the future. This case could bring a lot of attention to such exploits, in the worst possible way.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Not only are you missing out on some very fun parts of the game, you know absolutely NOTHING about your class when you bot it. I've known a few people that botted characters, and not only did they know nothing about their class, they missed out on very important things like class-specific quests for skills/gear, etc.

Some people like to take the easy way out, this is no exception. I just feel bad for the idiots that bot to 70, know dick about what they're doing, then wind-up getting banned months and months later once they get a clue, in one of Warden's roundup ban waves.

Correction, I did the grind to 70. Sub 70 sucks balls, I will never play that shit again. Running a bot isnt as easy as just clicking on. It actually takes alot of know how of the game. I gurantee that most people that glide the accounts know more about the game then 75% of the people that play it. Also take into account people (like my self) glide to sell accounts too. So those are the idiots that dont know how to play not the people that glide. I say gliding is cheating but you take away glider for me I will quit wow.

Also you have to have glider running to be banned. Turn it off you are safe from the warden ban waves. Its just a hit and miss type of thing. Ive never been banned and no you guys cant know what my ig names are

You have to have WoW running in order to bot, obviously. Warden runs in the background of WoW, sniffing RAM, open processes, etc. If you have had Warden running while WoW was running, they probably know about it. Whether this is a good or bad thing, Warden is VERY good at what it does. Does it border privacy violations? Absolutely, but it's the greatest anti-cheat ever..

I've known people that have gotten banned for using bots for 5 mins, while others used them for months and months and either never got a ban, or the ban came MONTHS after their last time using it.

I have two lvl60's and two 70's, leveled every one of them by myself. I guess when I get bored enough with one class, I try my hardest to get another one to 70. That's kind of my driving force behind leveling them myself. That, and how nervous I would be waiting for a ban if I DID bot.

Yeah...it's wrong. I hope the Glider guy loses. I've never played WoW long enough (I think 30 is the highest I've ever gotten) but it's just like anything else: You feel ripped off when you've worked your ass off for MONTHS to accomplish something, and someone reaps the same rewards in two weeks without doing jack.

It's always a new account, so it's not like they can really stop him.
