I have a microsoft sidewinder precision pro joystick which I want to install with the sidewinder software in Windows 2000. Windows 2000 accepts and installs the joystick. However the sidewinder driver 3.02 for the joystick doesnt install in windows 2000 to control macros. The 4.0 driver for the sidewinder precision 2 does install and work with precision 2, but doesnt provide macro support for the sidewinder precision pro. Is there a work around to provide the sidewinder macro support for the microsoft sidewinder precision pro for windows 2000?

I had a few older Sidewinder products, and eventually had to replace them for lack of functionality in newer versions of Windows. I'm sure there's still some diehard fans out there though, and at least according to the MS website macros are supposedly supported in version 4.0:

SideWinder 4.0: Macros Are Not Played Back Simultaneously

Thank you for your reply. Bad news for those who like me like the range of Windows joysticks. It seems one is still completely functional which is the precision 2 . Others like the precision pro are recognised by XP and windows 2000, but no macros, so its up to what your game options can do with the joysticks buttons.

Thanks
