Well, picked it up yesterday and its pretty good. Its an expansion pack, so its pretty much the same game, but the visuals have been beefed up a bit more. My rig did allright with the original but EP is really making it chug at some points. Also I'm not sure if they tweaked the AI or just made the maps more AI friendly (so they appear smarter) but those bastards really are good at finding unexpected ways/paths to frag my arse. They also seem to make better use of cover too.

Anywho, I think its about $10 overpriced ($30 for an expansion???) but a fun run of the same thing.

Does it pick up after the explosion?

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

Aisen's

Gamercard

How long is the expansion compared to the original game? I may pick it up but if it is just going to be a few new levels I'll pass.

I hope you die

Yeah, it picks up RIGHT after the explosion.

I have no idea how long it is so far, but I have heard around 7-8 hours (4 if your the kind that just plows through).

Again, for the $$$ I think its a little short, but then again I haven't finished it.

I'll have to check it out, because I'm going through fear for the first time right now, I think im on interval 8? (after the chopper crashed in the city) It's fun, Im tired of getting scared though

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone ...

I have very mixed impressions of it. The levels are a bit more open and varied than the original in places, but large chunks still look like they could have been lifted straight out of FEAR. It's not as polished as FEAR was, and I've had to reload from a save game a couple of times because some semi-scripted sequence screwed things up, like jamming a trolley into a doorway you need to get through so tightly it can't be moved. It's not as short as some expansions I've played recently (HL2:EP1 for example). Norton Mapes (the fat computer expert) makes a brief and utterly stupid appearance for some reason, looking remarkably healthy for someone who was shot in the stomach and left for dead in the bunker at the end of the first game. The new weapons aren't bad, I like the laser gun, and there are some nice touches that I don't think were in the original, like being able to knock down the heavy armor guys with grenades.
