I'm thinking about trading my ds and getting a ds lite... are the battery life the same? I heard that since the screen is better it drains more..

i think it does drain more, and the i know it takes longer to charge, theres reports of the hinges on DS lite are cracking so just wait a while before you buy your DSL

DS Lite is supposed to have the same amount of battery life as the regular DS on full brightness. I usually run the 3rd brightness level and I can get a good amount of play in my Lite before it goes low.

Yep.. as Reaver said

I play on the 3rd lighting (out of 4)

the battery times are stated in the booklet and are sufficient. The more brightness you use, the less time you've got.

Also, if you play GBA games, it uses 1 screen, so more batteries.

Plus, when you are at home, plug it up.

About the hinges: BS... just don't throw it everywhere

Lowest brightness on the DSL is brighter than the normal DS.

DS L = upgraded battery (as mentioned already)

Man, how can u use the 3rd setting? I have the old DS but I got my gf the DS Lite and anything past the 1st setting hurts my eyes. I think even with the back lighting off it looks good. Maybe I'm getting my settings mixed up. Is it : Off, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th? Or just 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th?

Shut your mouth and think it out.

i never even realized there was that tiny crack in the hinge till the business was mentioned.

Bearly noticable and doesn't affect anything.
